Jaipur:Pink City

Jaipur is the largest city of the indian state of Rajasthan . It was founded on 18 November 1726 by Maharaja jai singh II, the ruler of Amer after whom the city is named. Jaipur is a popular destination in India.
Best time to visit
The best season to plan a trip to Jaipur is during winter as the summer heat would be absolutely unbearable for most people. Average temperatures in the winter months range between 15-18 degrees centigrade with little or no humidity. For a trip to Jaipur in winters one should be armed with sufficient warm clothes to beat the occasional cold waves

Amer fort  is located in Amer, a town with an area of 4 square kilometres ocated 11 kilometres from jaipur,  Rajasthan state India. it is the principal tourist attraction in the Jaipur area. Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates.

The Jal Mahal was constructed from pink sandstone and follows the classical Rajput symmetrical style which is found throughout of Rajasthan. Jaipur’s government has made a tremendous effort to improve both the palace and the surrounding lake. Less than 10 years ago the palace was an abandoned ruin with water leaking in while the lake was a foul smelling sewage outlet but today wildlife teems within the lake’s waters a the place is back to its former glory.The solid stone walls hold back millions of litres of water and the special designed lime mortar has prevented water seepage for over 250 years.

Hawa Mahal













The Hawa Mahal or ‘Palace of Winds’, a red & pink sandstone pyramid shaped structure, is the epitome of Rajputana architecture. It is decorated with intricately designed windows and was constructed during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, of the Kachhwaha Rajput dynasty, as a tribute to Lord Krishna.

The Jantar Mantar monument in Jaipur, Rajasthan is a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments, built by the Rajput king Sawai jai Singh, and completed in 1734 CE. It features the world's largest stone sundial, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Located near city palace and Hawa Mahal of Jaipur, the monument features masonry, stone and brass instruments that were built using astronomy and instrument design principles of ancient Hindu Sanskrit texts.The instruments allow the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye. The monument expresses architectural innovations, as well as the coming together of ideas from different religious and social beliefs in 18th century India.

Nahargarh Fort

The Indian state of Rajasthan is famous for its royal heritage. Formed by the union of many princely states ruled mainly by Rajputs, Rajasthan has many forts and palaces. Some of these palaces and forts are associated with important historical events as well. Nahargarh Fort, along with other two forts viz., Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, once formed a strong defense for Jaipur city. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734, this fort was originally named Sudarshangarh Fort. Later, it was given a new name, Nahargarh which means 'abode of tigers'. Located in one of the oldest mountain ranges of the world, the Aravalli Hills, this fort gives you a breathtaking view of the scenic surroundings. One of the major tourist attractions of Jaipur, Nahargarh Fort is noted for its extended wall which connects it to the Jaigarh Fort.
